![]() ![]() Now he is back and no one wants him around. The brother who left his family and only talked to Sawyer over the last 10 years. This is book 2 in the Brewed series and is about Cayson Dixon. ![]() A good book will make the reader walk away from it feeling enlightened, having learned something about himself or herself. Not enough depth, sincerity, character growth. The book has turmoil for turmoil's sake, because it doesn't add to or detract from the storyline. ![]() I often wonder why readers give high ratings to books like this. Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke are excellent narrators, but even they couldn't save this book. Their "character" is adjusted for each "scene" to make it fit, but it didn't fit. The premise of this book is good, but the characters are borderline personality disorders. Way too much whining and introspection that was contrived for the purpose of reaching a word count. The storyline is disjointed (and I don't mean the jump from different time periods). Sometimes I wish the characters would revolt and call out the author for subpar writing, you know, look at the author and sternly say, "There's no way in hell I'm saying that." or "Are you kidding me? Are you trying to kill this storyline?" Better yet, let the characters tell the story. This books has issues on so many levels. Some books, I wish the characters would revolt ![]()
